A Safe Crossing on London Road - Rochford and Castle Point Liberal Democrats

PETITION TO ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL - REQUEST FOR A NEW PEDESTRIAN CROSSING

We, the undersigned residents, call on Essex County Council to install a safe pedestrian crossing near the BP Petrol Station.

This road is busy and difficult to cross, particularly for:

Children travelling to and from school
Older residents
Parents with pushchairs
People with mobility needs

Residents report regular near misses and long waits to cross safely. Traffic speeds and volume make the current situation unsafe.

We ask Essex County Council to:

Conduct an urgent safety assessment
Review traffic speed and accident data
Design and fund a suitable crossing solution
Provide a clear timetable for delivery

Our community deserves a safe route to cross the road.
