Number 20 Bus

We, the undersigned, call on First Buses to retain the Hullbridge to Southend bus service as it currently operates, with no changes to the route, no shuttle replacement, no forced bus changes, and no extra fares.

This service is a vital direct link for residents travelling to Southend for hospital appointments, shopping, work, school, and essential services.

The proposed changes have clearly been made without proper thought or consultation with residents who depend on this route every day.

For elderly and disabled passengers, forcing a change of bus is unacceptable. The suggestion of a shuttle terminating at Rayleigh Station instead of Rayleigh High Street means changing buses for only one stop, or attempting to walk up a steep hill, which is not manageable for many older people and those with mobility difficulties.

The proposed changes would also force passengers to pay two minimum fares each way to Southend instead of one, making an essential journey significantly more expensive.

We therefore demand that the current direct Hullbridge to Southend service is retained exactly as it is now.

No route changes. No shuttle. No double fares. Keep the existing service.

Do you support keeping the direct Hullbridge to Southend bus service with no route changes?
